What do you think was going through Ham the chimp's mind as the ship launched into space? To go from being captured in the wild to outer space is quite a journey. Looking back, it does seem pretty inhumane to subject an animal to such conditions.

If you read Guenter Wendt’s book “The Unbroken Chain,” there’s a good story about Ham flinging poo on an unnamed Congressman.
