First century Christian worship

Let's not let this devolve into a religious debate or religion hatefest. I found this video on YouTube of the pope attending an Orthodox worship service.
When it came time to say the Lord's Prayer, they actually went old school and sang the Our Father in the original tongue of Jesus and his earliest followers - Aramaic. In the earliest days of Christianity, prayers were either chanted or sung like their Jewish ancestors did before them. It is very likely that the first Christians sang the "Our Father" in a similar fashion during worship.
This is a very beautiful rendition of an ancient prayer that I think people of all religions, denominations, and creeds can appreciate.

That was objectively beautiful

No females would have been singing back then, but I did like that. Orthodox - 1, Catholics and their junky Vatican II mess - 0.

Man, that is pretty cool! I am in a predominantly protestant area, so most folks here don't like these traditional kinds of prayer. I like it a lot, though.

That was uniquely powerful

Catholics still do it. Larger parishes usually at the midday mass. Smaller parishes may not. Almost the entire mass is sung for the Easter Vigil where I attend. Of course it’s done in English though.

Yeah...we chant the Lord’s Prayer during Lent, but it’s one thing to chant in English and quite another to hum and sing in Aramaic.

Jesuits =/= Roman Catholic
Current Roman Catholic Pope = Jesuit
Therefore???

Really cool. Wouldn’t expect that in Georgia either.
