The New York Court of Appeals is the NY equivalent of what most states call a Supreme Court. I know that. You know that. Laymen on the board don't know that, which is why I called it the New York Supreme Court.

Something tells me she NEVER let her personal political beliefs interfere with her judicial rulings.
Is the picture of her supposed to highlight some bias or are you simply implying that because she's black and muslim that it prevented her from being unbiased? I guess white, christian, men are the only people capable of being unbiased?

She was seen as a liberal voice on the bench, frequently supporting vulnerable litigants against powerful interests such as large corporations. She was known to be candid and thoughtful in her judgements, and wrote a landmark decision defending the rights of non-biological parents in same-sex partnerships to seek custody or visitation, where the couple had decided to conceive and raise a child together.
I wonder if the means she supported "vulnerable litigants against powerful interests" even if the law was on the side of the powerful interest?

Every single judge is biased.
Every single one.
Thats why it is a big deal when a president gets to appoint a supreme court judge. Trump appoints a BIASED conservative.
