I thought the cops were still perched up over there. They used to be when I went there and to Fred's.

Well, I guess it's nothing new then. We always have a tendency to believe the current times are the worse I suppose.
You would think they would have lots o' cops there on big nights like home football games.

Back in late 80's early 90's it was Sports Illustrated. Fights were more likely there than Freds or Murphys (at least in my memory). Most of the time it was juiced meathead white dudes LSU students pounding frail drunk kids. I saw some bad fights I guess but nothing like what's described today.

The good ole days. Murphy's wasnt any better, fight your way in, fight your way out, fight in the parking lot.

it was a huge brawl, not even sure why it happened but the victim was trying to defend one of his friends and this is what happened to him. the guy he was trying to defend also ran away and let him get beaten so that he could save his own self. it's disgusting how humans treat each other these days. and it's even more disgusting that the victim was just trying to do the right thing and help someone he knows out and he ends up having to be placed in critical care.

Can you imagine if a bunch of white people were stomping a black guy into the ground on video? It would lead the national news and they would have the Department of Justice enhancing the shite out of it. They'd have every suspect in custody before you could say Al Sharpton.

1. College bar
2. Alcohol

Mid 90s to early 2000s it went from Sports Illustrated, to Sports, to Reggies if I remember right. It seemed to get worse with each name change. There were a ton of fights and brawls there especially in the parking lot after closing. People looking for a fight would show up there late night. There were some gun incidents too (shots in the air, guns pulled, etc.). However, I never saw anyone put in ICU, shot, repeatedly stomped by a mob, etc. Murphy's had fraternity brawls and/or the bouncers starting fights. Sports/Fred's parking lot was more GDI fights with some fraternity sprinkled in.

I can speak for Tuscaloosa. Its a college town so of course you are going to have fights between drunk college guys. With the exception of game days, there isn't a problem with the riff raff coming onto campus and lingering in the same areas as students, and even then you never see anything out of the ordinary regarding violence.
Wine Wednesday at gallettes might be the closest thing you'd find to a reggies demographic, but there isnt a parking lot and that area usually is heavily policed so there aren't many problems.

I was thrown out of Murphys more times than I can remember. I can still remember being thrown out right through the 2 wooden French doors in the front.

Reggie's fights were mainly just 18 year frat stars going at it. Plus a variety of meat heads just looking to fight. i haven't been to Reggie's in 7 years so it may have changed.

It was the combo of jeagar and Valium that would get me thrown out.

that's pretty fricked up. Hope you guys find the animals that did this. If not I know a guy...call him.

Or you can still smell it on your clothes because some jackass either spilled his on you or crashed into you.
I saw a couple of guys try to fight in Murphy's one night but it was so crowded they just grabbed each other and finally had to give it up.
