Just pointing out the general hypocrisy and how it makes folks uncomfortable.

Folks that bitch about EBT cards & welfare regularly, were really quick to take a reimbursement for a generator, a FEMA trailer, and a SBA loan.

Making sure to blame people who pay taxes for using dumb government programs that aren't targeted. To be conservative means to ignore reality and only pay for government at bayonet point, never to use any single cent of your tax dollars.

I don’t think most people are against what welfare was intended for. Which was to help invalids and to give people who were having a hard time temporary help. Same with natural disasters, I don’t think most have a problem with the government giving temporary assistance. So yes I complain about ebt and welfare but only because of how abused it is and allows able bodied people to not work.

People need to move on from welfare as the example and point to the Big Dig and high speed rail in California. That's more waste than most people can imagine. Two black holes of gift. Imagine how many more there must be.

The priorities now should be illegal immigrant costs, direct and indirect, and "foreign aid."

I had a whole home Generac installed n 2022. The tax I paid on it could buy two portable generators.

I'm doing the same, just about the FEMA handouts that were taken, but not needed.

Of course you were. For "conservative" people. Because they clearly abuse the system at such a high rate they deserve to be called out on it.

I am against all of it. But if it is in play, why would I let all the free loaders take advantage of it and not try to recoup some of my taxes? I would much rather shut all the shite down in the first place, but if they going to hand out my tax money I'm going to take back as much of it as I can.

And holy shite, a few years ago, there were threads on how to get a generator or chainsaw from Lowe’s or Home Depot, file a reimbursement claim and then return the item for cash

It's called entrepreneurship dude and it's the bed rock of our economy

I think you may be confusing a lifeline with a way of life.

No, it isn't.
You need to look up the word.

Honesty & integrity is the bedrock of this country.

Also, " bedrock" is one word.

If you have your receipt and the county you live in was part of the declaration.
