Football at this school. However the school can engage in Football after a 1 year ban.

The event these kids went to weren't something they created. This was done by the coach, someone who they should be able to trust to not do things illegally. The coach is a school employee.

How is this fair to the kids??

Based on the tiny amount of information given by you and from the link, how are we supposed to know. I can only say that participating in after school activities are a privilege not a right and can be taken away.

I found this from another news site.

quote:

Mary G. Montgomery was fined, placed on restrictive probation and barred from the 2026 postseason after self-reporting a recruiting violation tied to an “Eighth Grade Signing Day” event. Former Vikings head coach Zach Golson was suspended from coaching at AHSAA member schools for the 2026-27 school year. Golson has separately sued the AHSAA and school officials over his suspension and removal as coach.

Eighth Grade Signing Day Party and recruiting violations.

My point is why isnt the school and the coach being permanently banned from football as they are the ones who put the event on not the 8th graders.

Since you were too lazy to do a simple AI search due to being so outraged.

quote:

The Violation: The AHSAA disciplined MGM following an investigation into freshman/eighth-grade "signing day" ceremonies held in 2024 and 2025 involving students from outside MGM's attendance zone.

quote:

Player Penalties: Students determined to have violated the recruiting rules were banned from playing athletics at Mary G. Montgomery, though they can potentially regain athletic eligibility if they transfer back to the school district where their family resides

So, they were banned from playing at a school they were not supposed to attend. These kids and their mommas cheated the system and in turn got their baseless lawsuit thrown out.

If they go back to their district they could regain eligibility.

There's your problem right there.

Letting girls play football. You can't let Mary play. She's gotta take care of that damn lamb.

And who in the hell decided that "damn" and "lamb" needed a silent consonant at the end. That person should be fined, placed on restrictive probation, and barred from determining how words are spelled. (I suppose an extra "m" on the end of the word ain't so bad, but an "n" or a "b"? It's just dumb. Fourth graders have enough trouble trying to spell.)
