The vet is my cousin, but I’m pretty sure that is the listed price. He is having a special this month.

ETA: this is in Monroe

ETA2: Dr McClendon

There’s dog toothpaste on amazon. It’s like $10 and lasts for at least 50 brushings

I use a dog toothpaste. It is bacon flavored and smells like dog shite.

But she likes it. I got her used to it by allowing her to lick my finger a few times. Then I gradually used my finger to brush it on her teeth. And then finally, over time, started using a toothbrush with it.

So far, so good. She hasn't bit me.

February was always Children's Dental Health Month. I guess the vets latched on some time ago.

As a dentist I can't believe what folks pay to care for their animals--much more than they'd pay for themselves in many (most) cases, and definitely more than for their other pets (i.e., kids)!

so why dont you start cleaning dogs teeth. Sounds like you are missing out and are jealous vets are making more doing what you do.

BTW i assume it is for the anesthesia which is why it costs more than humans care.

Not necessarily. It doesn't help either way. It is unlike us brushing with a flavored toothpaste, such as Listerine - where you can tell and smell the difference.

The biggest thing that helps their breath is the water fluoride additive.

Your dog would have to catch mine. And that ain't happening.

BTW, had to move my dog away from Sport Dog brand of food. They had to change their formula and the company they were using to produce their product could not handle their volume of business. It's a mess over there at that company.

Switched to Muenster's Milling (out of Texas). 5 * rated at Dog Food Advisor. So far, so good. My girl really likes it. And her coat is the best it has ever looked.

Did you notice an improvement with your dog's coat when you switched over to Sport Dog?

I'm converted over to Muenster Milling, fish formula recipe. It's a very small kibble, but it actually makes my Dobie eat a little slower. Her coat looks great. I've added Coconut oil to her diet as well.

Try adding coconut oil to his diet. You can actually rub coconut oil on his skin as well. It has the potential to help him greatly.

This is the one I use. 1 tablespoon per 30 lbs. She eats it directly from my hand after spooning it.

The 32 oz. is the best buy for a buck more.

Anywhere here in BR I've found is ~$250 for the labwork to do the sedation. Then another ~$150-200 for the cleaning. Plus additional charges if they need to extract a tooth.

My dog just sits there and doesn't move while I brush his teeth, even though I know he's miserable.

Such a good boy.

what's this run ya?

Just looked at ours on Dog Food Advisor and it is 4.5 stars (I actually mix two varieties of the same brand, one is 5 and one is 4).

Taste of the Wild. On Amazon for $45-48, which appears comparable to your dog's food, but I get free shipping which is great.

And my dog loves that shite. Great website though

First time I ordered it (just recently), I used a coupon that was sent to me at I paid less than $50 for a 30 lb. bag.

They also just had a sale for 40 % off and I scooped this up as well - should be here tomorrow.

But typically, it is usually about $2 per lb. with shipping ($6 flat rate).

Good stuff.
