Join an active local church. Automatic friend group of peers in similar life stages. We helped countless people move (primarily military) during my 20s and 30s.

ETA: it was a good bonding experience as well. A tip though… have the little stuff boxed up before the guys show up to load/unload.

How many times have you moved your daughter? Today will be my 5th time helping my daughter move, hopefully it will be my last.

Moves: into dorm at Auburn, into 1st apartment in Auburn, into 2nd apartment at Auburn, into 1st apartment in Atlanta, and now into 2nd apartment in Atlanta.

Sounds to me she needs a boyfriend with a pickup truck.

Youngest will be a SR in HS in August

I'll bet I've moved more people over the course of my life than some moving companies but I've retired from the moving business, my daughter moved into a new home in November and I told her to shop around for a mover and I'd pay for it as part of a house warming gift

Hang a list of her dowry on her door, and get her married off. Until then it's your job.

I've tried putting the word out that I've retired from any strenuous manual labor but my daughter is the only one that hasn't received the notifications

Is this why everyone mentioning hiring help or letting boyfriends do it are getting downvoted?

Help me out here, I don’t know the rule

Be thankful. With my daughter, every other move was back into Mom's and Dad's home (including a few times with grandchildren).

my dad had a lot of trucks and trailers when I was a kid, everybody would call and ask if they could borrow them for moving, he would would always say "of course!, and I'll send little Czech along, I'm sure you could use some help" that went for my sisters as well, moved them several times when I was younger

None yet mines 5. I am however putting a little money each week for a down payment on a house when she’s ready. Maybe I can only mover her twice.

3, but one doesn't count fully. She was engaged and now married to a collegiate wrestler so he and his friends loaded everything. I just had to drive and unload at storage facility.

Helping your daughter isn't shielding them. It's a Dad's way of showing his love. I can easily afford movers, but moving your daughter in and out of college and even into their first home is just something dad's do.

Last dad thing was mowing their yard while she was at the hospital having my granddaughter. I was going to surprise them with all new lawn equipment and a fresh, expert level yard cuttin'. Little did I know she'd be in labor for 4 days and have to stay another four before d/c. Thanks to spring rains and warm weather, I had to mow that shite 3 times. Loved every second.

Once, when we moved her to college. She handled the subsequent moves with the help of fiends.
