One thing I think that needs to be cleared up here. This guy was a recovering addict. According to the story, he was prescribed Methadone, Xanax and Klonopin by a doctor to help wean him off whatever it was he had become addicted to (Heroin I guess).
Methadone and Xanax can be just as bad as heroin. Actually Xanax is probably what killed him. You don't die from opiate withdrawal, but you can die from Xanax or alcohol wothdrawal

The very unfunny irony of this thread is that those who write that he was trash/scan/etc and somehow got what he deserved are the real crap that are destroying us.
The ignorant peasants destroy civilizations every time.
It's not the politicians, it's not the thugs, it's the middle class morons
ETA: I'm no bleeding heart liberal and hold Rex, tuba, etc in the lowest regard, but those who can't see how wrong this was are many levels below even them.

Over a traffic ticket fine? I sure as hell do. The fact that this doesn't bother some of you is scary as hell.

'm done with the system honestly. We fought wars to protect our way of life and freedom and people within are destroying this country with their incompetence and corruption.
Truth.
Stanford prison experiment. People put in positions of power go on power trips and mistreat other people. Like clockwork.

Not saying that makes it better, I just had no idea what happened from the OP

Pay the fricking fine instead of using all of your money on drugs.

Where were the loving family members when he needed $772 to stay out of jail? How often did those family members visit him while his condition worsened in jail?
Why do you expect me, a total stranger, to care more for Stojcevski than his family or friends? I hope the family gets nothing as compensation for a wrongful death. Their contribution to his circumstances should preclude them being compensated as his death was foreseeable.

Going to jail should not be a foreseeable death. That is ridiculous.

What do you suggest? Send him another bill? It's the law.

Fact. Anyone that's ok with how this played out is less than human and deserves any bad that befalls them in this life.

What would you suggest the law be for people avoiding paying fines?

Moral of the story: Careless driving and drugs will get you killed.

Nope...not any longer! LA riots, Ferguson, Baltimore, etc. etc. Innocents are killed and their property taken every day by animals who are far from civilized!

Breaking the law put him in jail.

There are some archaic-minded mofos in here. This kid's situation is sad. Poor, addicted kid suffers miserably while in custody finally dying a painful death. Correct OT response? "Got what he deserved", " Play stupid games... ", etc.
I'd love to hang out in the Ivory Towers some of you ballers live in.
No one makes you do drugs or become a drunk...you do stupid things you generally get what you deserve!
