I had a similar incident 25 or so years ago. I was standing on a ladder to reach a tree branch. When the branch fell and hit the ladder, it fell to the right, and I dropped like a rock (straight down). I (?)instinctively(?) threw the chain saw away from me to avoid getting mangled, but when I landed among the ladder frame and rungs, I skinned the shite out of my legs.
