I had a very similar experience in college, but luckily it wasn't that big of a drop. Hauling arse, trying to show off for about 10 friends, found a wash that was about 8' deep by 10' across. Saw it too late and slid sideways into it. Impacted the far bank, busted the clutch lever and bent the bars. My ego was DOA.
