re: F150 owners and the infamous drive shaft clunk.. How did you solve it?

My company truck has done it since it hit 45k the mechanic has greased it once and it lasted for 10k. Truck has 163k on it now and has been clunking along. It's irritating when I hear it but I have become use to it and only hear it if a window is rolled down.

So in your world an alpha male truck owner who spends $60k on a truck should also have a lift rack at home and not bitch about having to remove the drive shaft once a year to fix this problem.

It is a known issue.
There is a relatively simple fix for the problem.

Tacomas (gasp!) have issues too,check out their forums.

What’s causing it? Is it ujoints wearing out? I remember 70’s dodges had that often.

I already told you:

Use the Ford recommended grease, add a zerk, pop some grease in it when it starts acting up.

Using the correct lube is the key, though.
