The sad thing...that’s far better than some of our other universities in the state...

Of total admissions, 70% graduate within 6 years at LSU. Tech graduates 59%, then Nicholls at 53%, and ULL at 51%.

Every other campus is below 50%, with LSUA having a pathetic 28% graduation rate.

You have to keep in mind that this uses IPEDs data that only counts those that enter the university as first time freshmen. Transfers don't count and have a much better graduation rate.

FKA disappoints me when I think about how his parents were professors at UF. I expect better from a former Gator.

Sure, but the fact is, 53% of total admissions throughout the state don't graduate within 6 years. That's a stat that tells us what we already know - college is far more interested in your money than they are in whether or not you're prepared.

Was F.Lea available for comment or is he hiding from his failure?
Fire King now before more damage is done.

FIFY

F.King is doing his best to lead a "state" university system that is barely funded by direct state budget line items. A lot of the changes employed reflect the stark reality of our state university systems

All universities must now compete for their indirect state funding (TOPS) and often the best strategy is to have higher admissions numbers

Don't blame him. He didn't flip the funding model.

FKA also didn't set Louisiana up to be #49 in basically every national ranking of education meaning most of our students are woefully ill-prepared for college.

You should read some of the freshman essays these days, you'd think we were a state of illiterates.

That is not total admissions. That is first time freshmen admissions who graduate in 6 years while staying at the same institution. If i start at Nicholls and then transfer i get counted against the graduation rate at Nicholls. I'm sure the total still is unacceptable but it's higher.
