I don't think the average armchair mechanic realizes that on some vehicles it's a much harder and more involved process, especially on trucks where the rotor also houses spindle or axle bearings. Also, the caliper bracket bolts can be a real bitch and most people don't have long breaker bars and impact sockets to break them loose and if someone isn't paying attention they can snap the bolt head off with means a much more expensive repair.
