Sure, but it does't have to be an 80/20 split to have significant consequences. If just 10% of males in a society don't have sexual and marital prospects it is going to most likely result in negative consequences for society.

I have dated liberals and democrats, but it in no way defines them to a point where they need to include their political leanings in a profile.
After internet dating for a while, I concluded that only 5% of the girls were actually dateable. The others I spoke to were either just for fun, or just for sex. Most weren't even worth talking to, and that's something that a desperate guy won't notice

You would think a southern city would have more Christian conservative types but there seems to be a disproportionate amount of raging liberals. Maybe I just notice them more because they're more upfront about it.
