5 year old me ate a couple pints of pickled beets. I’m 57 and not one beet since.

Guy next to me at the Tiki Bar on Islamorada had a putrid raw oyster. I smelled the empty shell and I haven’t had one since, about 26 years.
I occasionally eat them cooked in stews/soups/gumbo.

I got a cup of chili from Wendy’s and it had a severed finger in it.

Usually drink tea before bedtime and decided to try some chai latte black tea from Kroger. Drank it about 30 minutes before I went to bed. Woke up in the middle of the night feeling sick as a dog, dry sweats, shivering, nausea, etc. Spent the next 2 hours on the toilet alternating between shitting my brains out and vomiting so much that I ended very dehydrated and suffering from severe abdominal cramps. Had to just lay in the tub after that with the shower running for about 30 minutes just to stop from feeling so lousy. Climbed back into bed after that and still felt like crap, but eventually fell asleep. Won’t ever touch that stuff again.

Food poisoning from Canes back in 2004. Haven’t had it since.

Raw middle of a chicken breast from Popeye's. Followed by coming out of both ends for about 18 hours straight and IV at the ER.
Never had Popeye's again.

10 years old watching Super Bowl XXIX.
Ate a whole bag of sour cream and onion chips, which had been my vice at that age. Not sure if anyone rotated like I did as a kid.
Anywho, threw up everywhere. Didn't touch one for maybe 20 years.

Accidentally took a swig of beer after someone put a cigarette in there. Haven’t been able to drink ash tray juice since

More a place. The first and only time I went to a Boston Market was on a Friday evening. I got food poisoning and had to miss a double time Saturday on the job. Never have been back. Probably never will.

Had albasha gyro a few years back. Don’t know if it was bad or what but I ended up getting sick. Took me 4 years to overcome that. That shite burns when it’s coming up. Side note: I got sick while outside with our dog. She was eating up the vomit faster than I could move away from her. Absolutely disgusting.
See, it's shite like this that keeps me coming back to the OT.

The good news if you try it these days is that they only give you about 60% of the poisoning you used to get back then.

Ate stuffed bell peppers then caught the worst stomach virus I have ever had. 20 years later, I still won't eat a bell pepper.

Food poisoning usually hits in a 24-28 hour window, so often the wrong food gets the blame.

Green peas.
When I was a kid I ate some green peas that made me barf.
Even now if you put a bowl of peas in front of me I'll gag.

About 3 years ago I got an angry whopper from Burger King. It was a double patty with jalapeños, bacon, cheese and bbq sauce. Spent the night and next day throwing my guts up. Haven’t been to BK since

1984 or 1985 got a bad mudbug at the Shreveport Mudbug Festival on way to visit my Aunt for the weekend. Spent the weekend either curled fetal on the couch or hovering over the toilet.
Couple years later got bad crawdad in a Tulsa restaurant supposedly serving etouffe.
Now I can't eat a crawdad without immediately gagging.
