In June a thief stole over $9,000 worth of fishing tackle and tools from my home, boat and tool shed. I've got it on video, but chances are still slim that he will be caught. Am I livid at the little shite that did it? Yes. Would I love to beat his arse? Yes. Do I think he should die for it? NO.

I'm a proponent of the death penalty but in no way do I think it should extend to property crimes. If you think it's OK to chase someone down and kill them because they were stealing, then you are essentially advocating for capital punishment for property crimes, except without the benefit of a trial or jury. If they were posing no threat to the guys well being or safety, he shouldn't have shot.

The single biggest issue I have with allowing concealed carry without a permit , and by extension without training, is that far too many people have the wrong idea about when it's legal and appropriate to use lethal force.
