I grew up in Wisconsin aka the state with a bar at every highway junction. They were one of the last to move the drinking age to 21 and lower the bac limit to 0.8...both under threat of losing federal road funding. My uncle got nailed despite being a functional drunk...hearing that from my 85 year old grandpa with the disappointment in his voice has always stuck with me, even though I probably would have benefited from that lesson a decade earlier.

Minnesota...I almost drove off an elevated exit 40' up with my parents in the car @ 2pm after passing out around 4am. Though I did have the sense to get up at noon and pickup all the beer cans littered all over the lawn of my fraternity house so they wouldn't see the most obvious debauchery. Figured I was fine from then until that Mall of America exit. Thankfully I was just good enough. A year later I was an idiot and got stoned the afternoon before a 4 hour drive home for Thanksgiving. Ended up delaying the drive from 5 to 9 after watching Son-In-Law and Braveheart while waiting to become functional.

I've dodged so much stupid crap in my life and it still pales in comparison to the stories my old man tells me. Thankfully the only record I have is Speeding 10 over (dropped from 21 by the ADA) and 11 over (the bitch ADA wouldn't even drop it from 11 to 5 over)...both 20+ years ago. Now I freak out mixing just one beer with my opioids.
