Only answer is the Timex Weekender....check it out on Huckberry. Different color watch faces & numerous straps available. It's handsome, cheap & durable.

I own a watch forum. I think I know what the frick is or is not trendy. And both of those are still reputable watches with extremely large followings. And tons of new sales.

Saw an ad for a guy selling a mint WWII Bulova Type A-11 (1944). I'm not a watch guy but I'd wear it.

I was in Sears this weekend and they sell Bulova. I couldn't believe it.

Bulova Precisionist chronograph would fit the bill as a tough watch for the OP. Literally a half pound piece of steel.

NATO or ZULU strap
I have an Aussie Waterbourne Strap, what's the purpose of the second strap that wraps beneath the watch but is not pinned into the watch? It's the strap with the two buckles seen in the pic. Thx.

Very heavy, very busy but I still think if he doesn't have something where the movement is shockproof he's going to have issues.

I love a Seiko 007/009 on a nato or steel mesh. Marathon all day too.

You own a watch forum and a few years ago you didn't know a thing about Tudor's watch history. Damn.

The OP never stated why the watch broke.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I know Tudor and their history. I'm so confused.

This is the watch that broke. I assume extreme heat was the cause of failure.

Tell me the name of the forum you own again. I like checking out the different forums and know the guys who own 2 of the most popular ones.

I own a 3182.BO, definitely tough enough to survive most things which is why I figured heat would be the culprit. You are definitely going to need to option for something that has a bit of mass in the case to handle the heat but the trickier part will be finding one with a quartz movement that doesn't use at least some plastic either to fill out the case, frame the parts, or used to cushion the movement from shock.

It's so if one spring bar bends and loses its connection with the lugs, the strap underneath goes through both so you don't lose your watch.

My daily watch is a Seiko Sumo. Rugged, good looking, comfortable and relatively inexpensive at $400.
