Everglades Fire. Assuming it’s like a marsh fire.

a benefit rather than another issue.
11,000 acres burned so far, but isn’t it a good thing?
Intentional Marsh fires burn vegetation to the ground for regrowth
Rabbits that aren’t dead swim to next high ground( might help out with python pop and hunting)
Invasive plant species reduced

That depends, there is an area south oof Lake Chuck on the south side of the intracoastal called the Big Burns. The marsh had a lot of accumulation of dead grasses and the fire was hot enough to kill the roots. All the floating turf was gone and open water.

Lots of fires when I was down there last year. Some on my last trip but not in the area I was catching snakes. In some areas it can help if controllable, in other areas it can be destructive. Bad drought this year so it was to be expected.

I’m sure there’s benefits to natural burning and controlling both intentional and unintentional fires.. I see these guys hunting the snakes and it’s not always super swampy. Plenty of undergrowth, dead leaves and needles laying around for them to burrow up their nests,.

Then have Ray Valdetero report on the bass fishing there and the Little Burns. Sports took up half the local news. back then

The only thing that is burning is Sawgrass in the drier areas. Fire won’t kill the roots. That stuff will recover in a few months after the rainy season starts soon. And the pythons hang out in the wetter areas where their prey is. Sawgrass is a native plant species in the Everglades. This happens all the time down here. It only becomes a story when the fires get this large or this close to developed areas in the Western parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties. They burn the sugar cane fields in Western Palm Beach county every year.
