That's sad. Everyone you know thinks you are loser. They don't like being around you. Every pleasantry they exchange with you is fake.

in terms of things people buy/do that lead to regret, i have this ranking

1. marriage
2. boats
3. pools

that's the top 3 and i don't know if 4 is close

I'd have to think a time-share would come close.

One way to end that is have them catch you and your wife sexing in the pool. If they say or ask anything, say that you and the wife do this at least once day so call before popping in. Ends that real quick.

"You don't want a pool, you just want a friend with a pool."

Looks like you're the friend. Sucker.

There's nothing wrong with that when you are young. Sounds like your father and older brother are successful. It will be enjoyable to return the favor some day.

Of course they are much more successful than me monetarily, but we all enjoy each other's company and I of course take care of their belongings as if they were mine. Also I'm willing to do anything for them and help them out in any way when needed. Not like I'm just some ungrateful mooch.

Personal possessions and material things is pretty low on my list of things that make me happy but yes I'd also like to reciprocate their generosity one day.

Tell them the pool is unsafe to swim in because you had to pour muriatic acid in the water. They'll understand.

Sounds like you need to put it in wife's butt so she knows not to step out of line like this.

Ever regretted getting a pool?

Got one 13 years ago and have not regretted it one time. I use it EVERY day in the summer and probably 8-9 months out of the year.

Got a pool a few years back. It's expensive to maintain, but the kids enjoy it for now. On the other hand, I woke up a few days ago and saw that my wife (who is out of town) had invited over her friend/kids. Not a big deal--wife thought I was working and didn't tell me--but it's a little disconcerting to look out the window and see your pool full of people you didn't invite.

Wife's friend is a smoking milf, so that helped my disposition about the whole matter.
