He just hasn't had good Filipino food.
One time I worked New Year's Eve (night shift) at the hospital. ALL the Filipino nurses I worked with were off because that is a HUGE holiday to them. Me and a coworker saw them post their MASSIVE food spread at their Filipino NYE party. My coworker jokingly commented on fb "Hey what about us, bring us some!"
1 am comes around.....couple of our Filipino coworkers show up on our floor (still all dressed up) carrying big foil containers of leftover food to share with us. The good stuff too (lechon and pancit and all kind of other goodies).

Worked with several in the Navy. All were cool and good workers except one, he was a dick. They hated him too so I guess I wasn’t alone.

Yea, they didnt serve traditional filipino food on that boat. I remember one sunday dinner meal we all walked in the galley and saw a broccoli casserole on the line. Looked amazing, tons of cheese in it. We all got plate fulls and sat down to eat. Ewveryone took a bite and realized the white part that looked to be cheese was actually mayonnaise. fricking disgusting. Like I said, those guys work their arse off but they can't cook normal american food for shite.

I started dating one in December here in Houston. Never been around the Asian community until then and have attended some Filipina gatherings and met a lot of her friends. These are some damn good Friendly hard working people that are strong on family. They hate trashy people with a passion and holy shite can they cook.
Also throw huge parties and do karaoke. They tell me no karaoke no party as far as they’re concerned. Every damn one that I’ve met can sing pretty good.

The high school/neighborhood I attended/lived in had a large Filipino population, so yes I met a few that weren't good people.

They recently opened a Jollibee out in the East Valley of Phoenix.
I have yet to go check it out. But my coworker (he is Filipino) was so excited about it.
Jollibee is a VERY popular fast food chain in the Philippines with locations in the US as well. They are known for their fried chicken, burgers, and spaghetti.

Yep. Back in the day, when we still had a naval base in Subic Bay, Filipinos could join our navy. Tons of Filipinos did this to escaped poverty. I never met a bad Filipino in my life, and I served with a shite-ton of them. Worst thing I can say about them is, a lot the galleys at our state-side naval bases were manned by civilian filipinos. They couldn't cook green beans for shite. Almost raw.
