re: Ever Learned Something About Someone That You Never Expected?

I thought of another situation.
When I was in college, I worked a part time job for local government. I had been there for 3 yrs when this kid started working in our office during the Summer. He had just finished his first year of college and was suppose to just work for a few months, however; he was a really good guy, a good worker, etc so my boss recommended he be hired part time after the Summer program.
He was reserved, polite, and worked well with the public. One day he came in with cuts on his face and his hand all wrapped up. He said he was riding a friend's motorcycle and fell off which caused the marks. A few weeks later he came in with some more scratches, just looked roughed up.. but told us the exact same thing happened again. It raised a few flags, but you could never imagine he was involved in anything that would cause someone to rough him up a few times... whatever.
After the week in which it happened a 2nd time, the Sunday night after, he ends up shooting and killing someone. I was the first one in our office to arrive that Monday, I would always go shoot the shite with the guy who was the boss of my boss. He told me right away "did you hear about ______? He shoot ___".
The guy who worked with us didn't live in the best area, but his family were all good people. He went to Catholic school not in the area, etc but once he graduated HS, he was home more and there were a group of dudes in his neighborhood that started fricking with him. His cousin gave him a gun, we actually found a gun permit in his desk, but evidently he needed one sooner than later. The cuts and bruises on him were from the group who kept jumping him. The last time it happened, it was as if he had enough.
Went inside, got his gun and went up to one of the guys who was instigating it and BAM.. Shot and killed him. A few weeks later he was sentenced to life. 19 years old and the rest of his life would be spent in Angola. Two families lost a child.
While you would have never imagined this kid would have done what he did, everyone has a breaking point. I am not saying it makes what he did, right, but damn.. It sucked.

Yes, a guy I knew at work was married, had 2 little daughters, and was arrested for molesting little boys. He is still in jail after 20 or so years. I can still remember the shock of seeing his photo and following narrative on the news one evening after work. I had just talked to him earlier in the week. Yikes!

Isn't that like a HUGE HIPAA violation?
Yes, it is. Even an authorized user isn't supposed to look up a patient record unless they're doing related work.

With the new Prescription Monitoring Program any pharmacy with an account can look up people and see what controlled substances that person is prescribed. We get bored at work and look up famous people.
bruh.... i don't even have to tell you how big a violation of HIPAA that is, and in case you don't know, the Board of Pharmacy tracks every time you use the PMP... if they find you using it for the wrong reasons, well, hope you have some money saved up for the fine...

The guy who trained me for one of my past jobs wound up having the highest bond in Orleans Parish Prison history. More recently a guy who used to work where I work was semi-recently arrested for having sex with animals and other crude acts.

Was very surprised to find out a guy I used to talk to at work everyday murdered 20+ people. Pretty sure I win this thread.
Anyone remember the time that TigerDroppings basically found a serial killer?
A poster on here wound up being related to him or something.

Guy's sister in law was dating Brandon Scott Laverne, the guy who killed Mickey Shunick

Yea, that was incredible to watch that whole thing unfold. He was posting in the thread about it and it seemed like he all of a sudden put two and two together and sure enough, he was right.

Yeah, he knew the guy was a peverted POS so he was willing to believe that he could do such a crime.

Could even mean jail time. Huping Zhou found that out the hard way.
