Never mind....I think I know what the problem is. If you are a person outside of a faith, you may want to hesitate to tell others how to pray.
I just think that those who do not believe should not tell someone is DOES believe that he is wrong...especially when he is already 'down' and the majority of the world DOES believe in a higher power. That you don't may be fine for you...but not for everyone.
Oh, get bent.
"You shouldn't voice an opinion because you don't believe the same thing."
Sorry for offending you with a different opinion!

My son, I am a old man. Many good things have happened in my life; many bad things have happened in my life. Don't listen to those on here who tell you that God is not real. If you give up on God, what else do you have? The answer is FAITH. That's what God expects you to have when things aren't going your way.
Loss of youngest son in car wreck in 1997.
Wife partially disabled from a stroke in 2003.
I had heart attack in 2003.
I had open heart surgery in 2004.
Wife had breast cancer and mastectomy in 2012.
Wife broke hip in 2014.
Wife nearly died from C DIFF in 2015.
Wife had total hip replacement in 2106.
Other son is battling cancer now; surgery on Aug 18th.
And I believe God has brought us through all of this. KEEP THE FAITH. God will help you on his timeline, not yours.

There was once a man who lived near a large stone boulder. One day, God told the man to push the boulder as hard as he could. Being a man of faith, he obeyed and began pushing the heavy boulder all day, every day. But it never budged. He kept on doing this for weeks, and then months, and eventually years. It still never budged. The man began to lose his faith. Finally, one day he threw his arms in the air and said “God, why are you doing this to me? You asked me to push this boulder, and I have every day. But it hasn’t budged a single inch in all of these years. Why have you punished me like this? I’ve been a man of faith, but now I can’t see the reason anymore.”
God replied “I told you to push the boulder. I never said the boulder had to move.”
Confused, the man asked God why he would command him to push a boulder for no reason.
God replied “It was for a reason. Look at yourself….look at the muscles you’ve developed in your arms, legs, chest, and back. Look how strong you’ve become. That was why I wanted you to push the boulder.”
You have no idea how badly I needed to read this story tonight. I just hope that I was pushing the boulder hard enough and that I actually developed the muscles I'll need in the future.

I haven't really had much joy in quite some time.
If possible, you have to find a happy place. Something that takes your mind off of it all. Whether its watching a certain show, hanging out with a certain person, etc, you have to find that escape.
When we go through bad times, sometimes we allow stress to get the best of us and that can cause its own set of problems. You need to find something that you can get away from things for a little while just to give your body relief from stress.

Ive given you a LOT of shite over the years and I don't plan on stopping but truth be told you've dealt with more than most on here and I admire that.

I'm a tennis player. Definitely helps.
Other than athletics, there's not much else. Friends are spread out across the country.
That's the other thing. I have a really difficult time watching my friends right now have un impeded "success". It sounds terrible, but coming from similar backgrounds, etc., and watching them be where I want to be in some ways definitely doesn't help.
I'm happy for them, but it stings just about as much as anything.

You're alive.
You're obviously a fighter and not one who easily gives up. Instead of wasting time on trying to figure out why this or that happened to you, invest your time on a plan to get back to where you want to be..and do it on a day to day basis.

If you're alive and able to keep working, things can get better.
2005 I was in Iraq. I'd just lost 2 men and we were in harms way constantly. I prayed a lot. Told myself if I made it home I'd never have another bad day. I was right. I'm thankful for every single day no matter what issues I may have. When you put your problems in perspective they aren't that bad. Everyday you have is a good day.
