The city of Marfa had to place restrictions on Airbnbs due people like this. There are currently no cases in Presidio, Brewster and Jeff Davis counties. Pecos county is further north and they do not have a case. Northwest is Culberson County and the are clean also. We do not need people coming in and possibly bringing the virus with them. There is only one small hsopital in Alpine that serves Brewster, Presidio and Jeff Davis Counties. If the virus were to get here people would have to go to Midland/Odessa or El Paso for treatment.

I’d rather get the virus than go there. That place is the epitome of the middle of nowhere.

Crazy, there are much worse places in the south to be than Marfa. Its too bad the national parks are closed. Would be great to take a weekend trip over to Big Bend

This is what we do not want. People coming in and possibly bringing the virus to the region.

I used to live in San Angelo. Drove one day to Fort Stockton and thought this would be a place to retire. Dry air with humidity levels near 7-12 % at times. Run outside naked...lol. Only problem I had was that the elevation near Ft. Stockton was around 3100 feet.

I would image Marfa or Alpine would be the last towns to see a COVID Case.

Made a Airbnb booking for Easter weekend a couple of weeks ago and reservation was canceled due to the new rule.

That is basically why Abbott doesn't want people from certain states coming to Texas.

We are higher in Alpine, surrounded by mountains and usually 8-10 degrees cooler. As for Fort Stockton, no way. I lived there for two years and would not reccomend it.

I love big cities but I also love Marfa. 6 or 7 years ago I tried to convince my wife to let us buy a second house out there but she was not going for it. She felt like we wouldn't spend enough time there. I should remind her of that tonight.

Would have been a great investment. Real estate in Marfa is ridiculous.

There will always be one. They just replace them as they die and they all get the same name, Clay Henry.

I bought property in Dallas instead and real estate is ridiculous here too. But I took my future wife to Marfa in '99 before the the art mafia discovered it. There was absolutely nothing going on in that town, not even a place to stay, we stayed in Alpine. I did know about Donald Judd's studio and that's why I took my future wife down there.

Don’t plan on staying. There won’t be any jobs available at $25 oil.
