Would you like a list of the chemicals farmers had to use on crops prior to the advent of RoundUp resistant crops?

would also force more hard tillage which is more harmful to the environment than any herbicide on the market today.
It would lead us back to a potential dustbowl situation

Plus more tillage = a lot more fossil fuels being used

Its the reason I laugh at people who think organic farming is sustainable or better for the environment

Exactly. That crap isn’t sustainable in the slightest.

The increased trips also means extra labor burden. If some of these Charmin soft hipsters had to come help me pull pigweeds all summer because they banned the use of my herbicides I have a feeling most would be singing a different tune.

You were probably one of the protestors that let me leave early a few Friday’s ago, thanks. Can you do it at like noon on a Friday instead of 4 pm next time?
Not me. Not my thing. Not sure what their deal was and don't care. Glad you got out a little early though!

Be that as it may, it's not anti-corporation or anti-big business to suggest that the relationship between agribusiness and the big pharmaceuticals with their government oversight borders on incest.

Question: do you have a 401k, IRA, index funds, etc?

Those and some others, yes. Is this somehow inconsistent? If so, I'm not aware of how it is.

I’m not saying we should give companies the kitchen sink (opposite actually, I’d rather de-regulation and let the market decide) and I have my own issues with big pharma, but if big pharma and big ag were to be affected in a major way by lawsuits, like the Bayer lawsuits, anyone with a retirement account will be affected....when anyone says things like greedy/shady big corporations, I always like to remind them they are a part of the issue

Glyphpsate has been proven many times not to be a carcinogen. There are other ingredients in Roundup and knock offs, such as the wetting agents, that still may be an issue especially the overseas knock of versions. After one of those commercials one night I went deep down the rabbit hole reading several studies and reports on the whole glyphosate cancer thing.

Take a read if you are interested in a good overview of the history of Roundup and now Dicamba and frames the controversy fairly. LINK

Fair warning it’s an academic article.

That's fair. And at times, the lawsuits are sketchy in and of themselves. And free market based self-regulation is optimal but maybe over optimistic. Human nature and all that. I suspect some limited objective oversight is, unfortunately, necessary. We don't want the Green kooks involved in that but we equally don't want Big Pharmaceutical foxes running the FDA henhouse. IMO.:
