re: Embarrassing jobs that parents have

I was walking into a hardware store yesterday evening. A young black teenager and I assumed his father were walking in together and the youngster had paint all over his shirt.
I asked him if he got any paint at all on the wall and his dad busted out laughing. The young man grinned and I stood there talking to them for about five minutes congratulating the young man for having a job and helping his father out. I told him a professional painter could do very well if he'd follow his dad's lead and stay with it. The young man was more than polite.
His father's words were "he's learning, he works hard, and he'll continue as long as he lives under my roof. What's wrong in the world today is all these young punks hanging on the corner wanting their grandmother and parents to hand them something so they don't have to work". Truer words have never been spoken.

This thread didn’t go as you planned did it? Crawl back in your hole.

If he works an honest job and pays his bills, I'm fine with it. Downvoted.

I wish there was a RA option “because this guy is a POS”

AL bundy sold shoes and once scored 4 touchdowns in a single game.

He probably makes more money than you.

1. You don’t sound like a good friend.
2. I certainly appreciate a good show salesperson that goes out of their way to help you. It’s a rare thing these days. And the fact that he’s supporting a family means that he’s probably one of their top salespeople.

My dad was a shoe salesman during the day and a pizza delivery driver at night. As a kid I wasn’t embarrassed because I thought it was awesome he wore a Domino’s uniform and brought home free pizza from time to time.
Then he got a new job unloading trucks at a large retail store, which I wasn’t embarrassed about because I thought it was cool that his work place was pretty much underneath the store, surrounded by large 18 wheelers, and called the “dock.” His coworkers cussed and were loud and would drink beer at our house some weekends.
Then that hard work and those diverse experiences finally paid off for him when he got promoted to a management position and eventually got his own store to lead.
Never attack a man for the work he does as long as it’s honest work with hard work ethic.

Only embarrassing job that comes to mind is being a shitty OP.

Did it even occur to you that he likes his job? Maybe he started there when he was just out of school, and he stayed because he likes working with people? Other than quotas, it's probably fairly low-stress. Probably gets to work the hours he likes, or he might be manager of the department, but even if not, obviously makes good enough money to support a family.
You are a spoiled brat, I'm guessing.

Initially missed this indicator of OP’s brilliance.
