Who's to say there isn't a device that can take out half of those drones with one weapon...?

I mean they really can't be that hard to take out huh?

Sounds great until they’re zapped by EW.

Mylar ballons can take down a large electrical transformer imagine what 1000 drones could do.

The US Military will figure out a way to pay 6 figures for a $750 DJI drone

If it’s one thing I know for sure with the US, any military weapon that gets deployed now a days, it is old school, and they already have a countermeasure, or something better on standby if they need it.

My Dad was talking about the Railgun his team was working on back in the early 80s. There are weapons systems out there right now that are proven, but are already basically obsolete.

Putin, and the rest of these nations love stroking themselves off with hypersonic missiles. Know what’s faster than hypersonic missiles that we already have in service, and deployed???

Lasers. Nothing trumps the speed of light. The power involved years ago made it impractical, but now that isn’t the issue. We can shoot down anything flying hypersonic with zero problems

That’s why the US never vested much time or money in them. We were already way ahead of that.

Effectively eliminates the effectiveness of conventional weapons combined with radars as a defense strategy.

Only chance you have of stopping a wall of drones is EMP or directed energy in the form of RF (radio frequency).

ETA: Not sure that directed energy weapons have advanced enough to hit an entire wall like that with enough strength that all the drones go down. If not, I would imagine it wouldn’t be difficult to develop.

It would be expensive and heavy duty, for sure.

Or drone seeking drones. Yes they are already out there.

Most targets are on the ground. No need to even engage the F-35's. Let them have the air where nobody is, and get shot down by iron dome type tech.

Didn’t even think about that. I guess the counter to that would be sending your own drone-seekers, then it becomes a numbers game.

I guess if the drone-seekers had a low-level EMP you could eliminate a large number with just one.

Someone posted a few months ago that radio jamming electronics can render operator guided drones useless.

Not if the drones flight plane and mission were pre-programed in first.

It’ll be like two hives of bees/hornets fighting each other. You let them kill each other off.

The problem is we will build the biggest and most sophisticated for ten million each and the enemy will build a thousand for a million. In this case quantity had its own quality

I can't remember if it was the FBI or TBI, but they just recently arrested a guy in Tennessee trying to blow up a substation using a drone rigged with explosives.

Hyper war with drones controlled by AIs will render current battlefields unsurvivable unless jamming tech can evolve to prevent the source from communicating with the drone swarms.

I would bet they could engineer drone to reach almost any altitude if they haven't already.

Autonomous drones can be pre-programmed with assigned course and action point execution commands.

Jamming likely would be ineffective. You’d have to find a way to harm the electrical components within the individual drones.
