Really? I get most people not knowing what he's talking about but I thought for sure you would.

Fine, I spoil it for y'all.

Did he write a check for the taxes on that income?

I'd be pretty sure he's paid every dime of taxes he owes on his income. Until he sells and realizes a profit he doesn't owe taxes.

Yeah I immediately thought about that post and how the news actually shared it like it was even close to being accurate.

So I figured he was just being funny.

Good for them I suppose, but I can't imagine too many people wanting to rent electric cars from airport while staying at hotel/motels that don't have the charging equipment...

I'm not positive but I would guess the vast majority of car rentals do not extend past the typical range of a Tesla charge. Sure some people rent a car and spend two weeks touring the National Parks. But most renters are just scooting around town for a few days and turning the car back in with 100 miles added to the odometer.

I'm guessing that is the Hertz strategy - a gamble the people will pay an extra $20/day to avoid the stress of having to top off the gas tank while racing to the airport to catch their flight. We've all been in that situation - do I pull over and look for a gas station in an unfamiliar city and risk missing my flight or do I just bite the bullet and pay the rental car company $6.00/gallon + service fee penalty for returning the car without a full tank.

Either that or Hertz thinks they will need a government bailout in connection with their bankruptcy filing and this is just a virtue signal to secure gov help.

I didn't think I could have made my comment any more sarcastic. I guess I should have tried harder.

Instead they'll charge you $10/hour it takes to recharge.

I always like to see what it would take to spend all of the net worth of these rich motherfrickers. (I know it isn’t liquid, but it’s still fun)

So if we took that $288.6 billion and invested it in an account earning just 5% interest, it would earn $14.4 billion a year in interest alone.

So if you lived off the above interest alone, you could spend $39 million dollars each day of the year and still have $534,000 left over at the end of the year

If you just wanted to spend all of the $288.6 billion over the next 30 years without investing any of it, you would have to spend $26.4 million dollars every single day before that account would reach zero

Tesla wouldn't exist without government help

But you can also say that about many other companies

I just wish the government would get the frick out of business, true capitalism allows you to succeed, but it also allows you to fail

So, Hertz places order worth probably $5billion or so.

Market cap of company rises over $100 billion.

Makes sense.

It was sarcasm due to Democrats wanting to tax unrealized gains.
