I'm convinced that Jenner is trolling the frick out of everyone, and it is working.

shite, I missed this whole thread, but it could just be this:
Jenner claims to love the constitution. You can be ALL FOR gay people getting married and having a right to do it under STATE law.
But that is a whole different thing from the supreme court saying that when the people who wrote the relevant provisions did so, they understood they were enshrining a right for two dudes to get married.
If that's what he thinks, I agree with him. I think the Supreme Court overstepped its bounds, although I think it was a close call given recent precedent.
He can just as easily say he sides with Chief Justice Roberts.

I guess that's a valid opinion assuming you also believe that the supreme court overstepped its bounds in 1967 with Loving v. Virginia which legalized interracial marriage. After all, a previous court decision had determined that bans on interracial marriage were legal because they affected "whites" and "coloreds" equally. White people weren't allowed to marry colored people and colored people weren't allowed to marry white people, and so it was supposedly completely fair. That's the exact same argument as saying that gay marriage bans should be legal because straight and gay people have the same right to marry someone of the opposite gender. I also don't think the authors of the 14th amendment had any idea when drafting the constitution that they were enshrining the right to interracial marriage.
So if you're arguing that states should be allowed to ban both gay marriage and interracial marriage, then I'm forced to acknowledge that your opinion, while disgusting, is at least internally consistent. If, however, you agree with the ruling in Loving v. Virginia but disagree with Obergefell v. Hodges, then I'm forced to conclude that either you haven't actually considered your argument all the way through or else maybe you have some other motivation behind your opinion that you're not sharing.
