The problem is between the plug and the floor.

Should normally trip the dryer breaker, but a direct short like that can trip the main.

Your receptacle could be damaged, or dryer may have not worked to begin with.

Get that dryer hooked up so you can dry those drawers after you wash them.

Get your wife (pics) to do the freaking laundry. And use Google and YouTube to figure this out. Hint: You're not building a rocket that will explore Saturn.

Actually everything is not working. Trips the breaker when you try to run it. And I even replaced the plug.

frick it. I’ll get a new one. Dryer came with the house.

You need a volt meter OP. Rule #1 of being an electrician is learn to turn the power off and then test that it’s off. Test the voltage at the outlet then test where the wires are screwed into the back of the dryer. Go from there.

My guess is you blew a capacitor or fuse or other part of a control board on the dryer.

You may have burned up the outlet and that needs replaced if it arced inside the outlet, which sounds very likely.

That's not possible. What he did was plug a dryer cord that was not hooked up to the dryer yet into the outlet.
