but lets not pretend its impossible to own a modern machine-gun.

It is if you want to do it legally.

Now you are moving the goal posts.

I thought we were discussing legal ways to own them?

The difference is, they buy their guns illegally.

Heavily regulated. It's the only way they could get around the constitution because outright banning them would never fly.

You have to be able to see over the counter to buy one. Therefore, your question is of no concern.

To give you some perspective on the price of a fully automatic gun, I just sold an HK MP5SD with a full auto sear pack and integral suppressor. the sear pack alone goes for $25,000 because it can be put into any compatible HK and make it full auto. the whole gun went for $35,000. Assuming you have the funds, you still have to file an ATF Form 4, pay a $200 tax stamp, and wait 6-7 months for approval before you can own it.

The gun allegedly used in the club was a Sig MCX, which is a semiautomatic that you can buy from any Sig dealer. I have an MPX short barreled rifle with a silencer in 9mm and it kicks arse

Congratulations, you just qualified to be the new liberal spokesperson about guns in the media and in Washington! You don't know shite about shite, but are willing to speak of the horrors of liquid shite! Here's some thick rimmed glasses and a horrible sense of self importance, knock 'em dead kiddo!
