EBR family court costs - who pays?

Who pays child custody court costs? Is it ever loser pays? For example, if dad is mad at the mom and takes her to court over something petty like being late to one drop off, would the mother have to pay attorney fees and court costs for the dad automatically?

Not EBR, but where I practice, attorney's fees are always paid for by the guilty party of a contempt action (the person in contempt pays the attorneys for the plaintiff). Other than that, each party is responsible for their own attorney's fees.

I still support a “gratuitous legal advice in three sentences” board. It will be separate from and in addition to the “I want to reduce my child support obligations” board of course.

Person who files (anything, not just the original) pays. And each pay their own lawyers (of the lawyer is really lucky).

That makes sense. So a dad sending a-hole texts threatening to take the mom back to court and declaring she would be responsible for paying all fees and costs is just a full of shite nightmare human.
