They're almost as bad as cross fitters.

Taking that one step forward, Passover is pretty much translated by putting the word Jewish as a classifier or through context clues.
Italian - Pasqua ebraica
Spanish - Pascua Judía
French - Pâque (juive)

I wasn't aware anyone didn't know that the early Christian church adopted the festival dates of the pegans and some of their traditions in order to make the transition between religions easier as well as a means to hiding in plain sight .
Christmas and Easter are not meant to mark the specific dates of the historical events. They are festivals to celebrate moments in Jesus's life.
I always laugh at these "gotcha" articles.

Or worse, vegans.
Or gluten-phobes.
Yeah, people have been drinking milk and eating bread since the dawn of man but some dreadlocked bitch with a hairy arse handed a pamphlet to you in the quad and all of a sudden you know better than all of collected humanity.

Agreed. At least by a certain age.

easter is timed to be between passover the fact that some random arse egg holiday was the same is a consequence. in the bible christ is crucified in passover.

Easter's Pagan origin...
Just because the feast of the Resurrection coincides with pagan rituals/holidays doesn't mean it was derived from them.

My view on atheism is the same as my view on all religion, in the fact that, I don't care what you believe, just don't try to force it on me, or tell me I'm wrong... I don't care... live and let live
Just a thought
Just a thought

Listen to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History episode Thor's Angels.
These pagan Germanic tribes were bad arse. Just as soon split your skull as look at you. You don't convert people over by saying, "yeah, all your cool holidays are dogshit and you have to obey our guy now."
You go in and say "hey cool dudes, that Odin fellow has a cool beard. You know what other awesome god has a cool beard? This Jesus guy. He's magic. He can make booze.
Oh, you have a cool end of the year holiday? Well what if, instead of us killing you, you just say that Cool Bearded Jesus is pretty awesome and keep all the holiday stuff? Sound good? Great."

I think it should be ok to discuss. Ironically, it's the Christians that display superiority. It's within their doctrine. A secular rebuttal pales in comparison to a religious truth claim. Some of which can be pretty grim.

Not surprised an Atheist is arrogant at all.

Not to mention the simple common sense factor. They lived in a largely agrarian society when most people lived by the seasons and had the same days/seasons off. It would be practical to dedicate feast days at times when they weren't required to work or be on the road to market. Those days were going to coincide with earlier holidays or feasts which were probably celebrated at the same times for the same reasons.

I agree... I also believe in healthy debate over the topic, the problem of superiority complex (on both sides) does come into play with these type of debates though, as you have said
Open minds will win the day on both sides, but usually, that doesn't happen... I find when people are challenged by an idea, they run back to their place of comfort, thus negating the idea of even having a debate

Right. I have no problem with people believing or not believing in whatever, unless they decide to make it affect me. Like stupid blue laws. Or Islam.
But undue smugness is just fricking annoying. You might agree 100% with someone on a subject but when the put it out there with that smug superiority it just makes people want to punch you in the damn face. You aren't the end all and be all just because you read some article on buzzfeed. Get over yourself.

It SHOULD be during Passover. The date is chosen each year based on oagfan traditions.
But the holiday itself is an extension of Passover.
