Eastern Tennessee for Thanksgiving - Recs

In the process of planning a trip to TN for a few days before thanksgiving. I'd love some recommendations on where to stay in or around Chattanooga and sites to see. We are flying into Nashville and will have a car to use.
The last time I went through there, I was younger and saw a lot of the tourist stuff. (Rock City, Ruby Falls, etc). We will probably stay away from that. Also, a recommendation for a place to watch the LSU game that Saturday would be nice.

Aquarium is super nice. It will be a little late for fall color, but any of the boat rides on the Tennessee River or the Tennessee Valley Railroad train trip will let you see some amazing scenery.

Thanks for the replies, I think we will definitely check out the aquarium and possibly do a boat ride (any suggestions)?
We visited Asheville a few years ago, so just wanted to check out something different on the other side of the Smokies.

Aquarium definitely worth a visit.
Check out Raccoon Mountain and it's Visitor's Center. They call that little river valley "Tennessee's Grand Canyon." It's not even close, but it is a very pretty view.
If you want a pretty drive, head north to Tellico Plains and go over the Cherohala Skyway or as I fondly call it the Cherrycola Skyway.
You can either go over it twice or loop down to Murphy, NC and come back across and see the Ocoees. The area around the Ocoees has some pretty hikes and forrest roads as well.
There is a train that heads out of Benton, TN that is a really nice ride through the mountains.
Lookout Mountain area is neat even if you don't want to do the touristy stuff. I like Point Park and the trails around it.
If you have a mountain bike and love to ride trails. Raccoon Mountain has some great mountain bike trails. The park by the Volkswagen plant also has some really good trails.
There are some good restaurant rec threads over in the F&D board.
I prefer West NC more myself. I love staying around Highlands area.

Thanks for the info, that sounds just like what I needed.
Are there any local places to rent kayaks or canoes for leisurely paddling? I thought that might be fun to do one day, if available.

There is one right near the aquarium in Downtown Chatty.
