This is the only solution for a full drip pan.

Wrap duct tape around the top of the PVC pipe, then blow on it as hard as you can a couple of times. Then pour Clorox. Repeat once a year.

Chlorine bleach. One cap full ought to do it.

Easiest way is turn off AC.

Or for a little more effort you can keep your AC running by removing the drip pan.

Your drip line is clogged, as you probably know. Get some compressed air and spray the air through the line to unclog it. Just payed a fricking AC guy $150 to watch him fix it in 3 minutes.

There should be a drain line on your evaporator. The pan shouldn't get any water unless that line gets clogged.

Same process for cleaning it out

You can get chlorine tablets from a pool supply store. Place then next to the drain hole and they will slowly dissolve over time. Keeps the drain clear of algae for months a t a time.

And if your unit takes in any air near the pan, you're now pumping chlorine gas around your house.

I work for an apartment complex. It can be a constant issue if you ignore it. If you have a safety switch in the pan it will shut the whole system down. It not it will overflow and cause a mess.

Our method of treatment. Insure line is clear by vacuuming from outside or blow air through the line from inside. Place either bleach in liquid form or a few tablets in the pan. Your done!!

We schedule a line clearing 2 times a year and now have a hand pump that attaches to the exterior drain line for easy clearing.
