I do not know about LA, but no charities in the DFW will take old mattresses. It is a shame.
Same for older kids car seats. Really a waste.

This topic has come up before....many who have moved out of LA have agreed they never realized how bad the litter issue was...until they moved and saw how it was in other states.
Oh, I know. I live in Texas, i was just back in LA last weekend and saw how bad it was/is.

Dump it in your neighbors yard and feign ignorance. It's their problem now

They don't take car seats because they have so many recalls and because there isn't really a way to be sure they haven't been in an accident that compromised them. I'm ok with them not taking a risk on car seats.

If you live in BR put it at the street. They will take it with your garbage or they will take it with trash (the other day).
That is what you pay your taxes and water bill solid waste fee for.
Same with white goods (old appliances), limbs, etc.
Read that earlier, but I don't really want a king mattress laying around until Thursday. Off to Salvation Army.

Burn it and use the metal spring part for a trellis to grow cucumbers or pole beans.

Almost every mattress place will haul off your old one.

My apologies please. I've been moodier than usual lately. Looks like you were my latest victim of that, sorry.

Put it outside. If you have garbage service they will pick it up on one of their runs.
