As I posted earlier:

quote:

Manual transmissions account for just 2 percent of all vehicles sold in 2018, according to data from Edmunds.com. In 2006, 47 percent of new models in the U.S. were offered with automatics and manuals. Now it’s down to 20 percent and dropping sharply.

Factually outdated in the US. The only way anyone can say otherwise is to argue against numbers and facts or say "the world doesn't revolve around America" then prop up European numbers as if the world revolves around Europe.

Outdated because people are lazy and buy cars by stats instead of quality and feel. Hydraulic steering is outdated too, and just because Porsche can make electronic steering amazing doesn’t mean everyone can. New does not equal better. Just because there are examples of great implementation doesn’t mean that goes across the board. Hook your cart to the electronic steering and shitty turbo cars and yea, why in the frick would you want a manual with that setup?

Having different priorities while buying a car doesn't make them lazy.

The average consumer doesn't give a shite about the in depth technical specs. They care about safety features, comfort, audio/Bluetooth, reliability, etc. Broad picture stuff.

For most a car is to get from A to B. You're a car guy so you enjoy the details, but not everyone is the same. That doesn't mean they're lazy.

It's such a lazy take too. Kinda ironic.
