This is why chimps and other primates need to be either kept in zoos or large tracts of open land where they can roam around. They are far too intelligent of a species to be locked up in small cages and owned by private owners.

watched a special last night on PBS on chimp caretakers and them being re united in the wild. pretty fricking cool
