Does anyone know if it cost more in the grocery store of non-dairy alternatives? Because if thats the case, a lawsuit like this could open the doors for people suing everywhere in which non-dairy alternatives cost more.

I posted a separate article under the ETA talking about the price differences in regular dairy milk versus the alternatives.

While I'm sure there are some places where you could find some random off brand almond milk for around the same price, it's definitely not the norm.

This begs the question, why hasn't this same group filed suit against grocery stores for charging more for non-dairy milk?

Dunkin should strike back saying the fee is an environmental surcharge for the extra water it takes to make almond and soy milk.

That would make little green heads explode...

This is such a dumb take about coffee. Can someone explain the thinking behind this?? No different than adding salt, tony's or any other seasoning to food, or drinking sweet tea vs unsweetened tea. What is so bad about adding sugar or cream to coffee.. "If you add seasoning to your food then don't eat food" - sounds silly doesn't it?

Why are you drinking drinks drowned in dairy if you are lactose intolerant? Coffee isn’t the only thing with caffeine.

Like vegans, why go out of your way to buy something processed to look and taste like dead animal?

Any person with a shred of ethics tells someone to GTFO wanting to sue for this.
Probably lawyers idea in the first place. I actually get coffee with oat milk by the Dunkin near my work quite a bit and the 'extra large' with oat milk still comes in under four bucks. I never even noticed I was being upcharged and couldn't care less. I doubt people were lining up to sue for that. More likely the attorneys farmed clients to "represent."

I don't suggest anyone eat processed foods but this one is pretty easy to understand. People don't drink diet soda because they hate the taste of sugar. They just, for various reasons, don't want to consume sugar. Most vegans aren't vegan because they hate the taste of hamburgers and pizza. They just, for various reasons, don't want to consume animal products.

If you don’t like the thought of eating animal I don’t understand why you would get a chicken Philly cheesesteak but with vegan meat that places charge more for.

Especially when there are so many great tasting plants and dishes you can do with plants.

It doesn’t make sense.

Diet soda makes sense, less calories. It’s a mess caloric option.

You're still altering business for these lunatics, so The problem is definitely not solved.

Because you're applying your own framing to why a person might choose not to eat meat. Not liking the thought of eating something isn't necessary to make the choice not to eat something for other reasons. For example, a person might have no problem with eating meat but have ethical objections with industry practices, real or imagined. Some might refrain for religious regions. Some of them are just trying to be edgy and piss off their parents but still love burgers.

I'm not looking to debate you on those individual positions, which vary more widely than the one you've assigned to every single vegan. Just trying to illustrate that there are perfectly logical reasons to desire products that mimic something you enjoy even if you choose not to consume them. Even if you disagree with their logic, ethics, and reasoning, the fact that they believe them, makes it a logical thought process.
