I remember when I was in high school I volunteered at a recycling event. It didn't take long for me to realize that what other families threw away was far nicer than the stuff we owned.

LOL not a baller. Just know some folks.
I get the dumpster diving from my grandfather. Growing up during the summers he lived at Toledo Bend. There was no trash service so you'd have to take your trash to the dump.
Folks would always put the semi still useful stuff out on the side and we'd get there about 10AM to look it over.
I enjoy the condo dump because it seems like it's a bunch of yuppies throwing out useful items.
The chairs today were a little worse for wear but they were leather and comfortable. I picked the unchewed one to keep as a desk chair.
The other the GF took home to use as a chair for her make up vanity. She made a bit of fuss about having a dump chair until she sat in it.
No matter how much money I make, I'll never stop repurposing stuff that's still good.
Even at work, as an Deputy Director of the department I refused to order a new chair. I found one someone was throwing in the dump. It's a nice 25 yr old chair that I found and took back with me.
I work in Procurement, saving money is like ingrained in me. Now, if I was a banker I'd probably be rich cause I'd know how to save and invest...but I digress...

I told her if I had a truck here in Arlington, VA, I'd spend every Sunday afternoon going to all the condo dumpsters picking things up
She almost had a panic attack when I told her if she had more patience I could have furnished my entire condo in about three weeks at the dump
