BBC

quote:

According to a recent scientific study, the way to avoid mosquito bites is to listen to electronic music - specifically dubstep, specifically by US artist Skrillex.

quote:

Dubstep music by Skrillex was found to protect against mosquito bites in a new study, with its mix of very high and very low frequencies. Such music, which appears to delay host attack, reduce blood feeding, and disrupt mating, may provide new avenues for music-based personal protective measures.

I think I'd rather just slap gnats or spray DDT all over my body instead.

Drink enough bourbon and the mosquitos won't bite you.

They're lightweights.

The scientists also found that mosquitoes exposed to the song had sex "far less often" than mosquitoes without music.

It has the same effect on humans.

LSD also appears to be a mosquito repellent of sorts

I'd let that blondie stroke me off like that. Her friend looks like she's taking a load all over her face.

I wonder how many videos like that get people to just hang it up.

I'm sure they could research and find the exact frequencies that disrupt mosquitoes the most, package them together in a sound file, and put it on spotify.

ETA:

Or maybe I will and get half a penny each time someone streams it.
