Agreed- this is why we can't have nice things. I would never own a drone -jmo.

Yeah the dam broke on that. Unfortunately it'll probably take a commercial airline/drone crash to see some regulation.

Regulation is currently being developed. It will not be long before a legit license is needed to fly one

They better hurry the hell up. They're about 4 years late. I worked with drones in the military and only a small handful of people were actually operators of the aircraft. They needed to pass an official school and certification. It's crazy Uncle Leo and Joe Blow are able to fly these.

Kind of makes you wonder how we've gone all these years with remote control airplanes and helicopters and you never heard a peep.

Have you seen some of those r/c jets? They are pretty insane.

Change the name and put in video games and it's suddenly a new hot item.

Newer ones have software that detect collisions and avoid them

A short, highly publicized stay in jail for someone would stem that kind of shite pretty quickly....

Maybe other drones, not something 150 feet wide going 400 mph.

People cannot be expected to have common sense. Drones are cool but so many idiots are misusing them that soon it'll be more difficult to get one.
The idiots operating these things in flight paths are the same idiots that require warnings on lawn mower decks.

This is the same argument that guns kill people......

No common sense in this world anymore.

I have a drone to video fishing trips and outdoor adventures and I would be made as hell if someone screwey that up for me

Think about how dumb the average person is.

Then realize that half the population is dumber than that person.

I am not taking up for Drones

However i am disappointed that these small models can create a real threat to Commercial Aircraft. Hard to believe really.

I wish that all commercial aircraft could be fitted with something that disables these drone thing within a certain distance.
