For LSU game in Knoxville last month, we flew to Atlanta and rented a car. Drove to Chattanooga then to Knoxville then to Asheville. Then we drove to Greenburg/ Spartanville South Carolina and flew home on Southwest. Very easy flight. This is what I would suggest.--- roundtrip air on SW to SC.

Be careful and go. If the roads aren't iced over you're fine. Old people die man. Visit.
