I don't disagree with this, but truck driver deserves some blame here, he sped up to try to block the car in again
You are right, that truck floored it and basically closed the gap on purpose. If he was passing cars at 75 but sped up to 85 or more to stop that car from passing him I think that is criminal as well. If he was passing cars he should have kept his same speed!!!! Instead he floored it. Don't exonerate the truck driver.

Not relevant to this discussion
It is most certainly relevant. The law states that you move back to the right lane when safely able to. He was safely able to after passing the dark SUV, but refused to do so.

He was passing a vehicle.
And when he passed that vehicle, he refused to move back over to the right lane to let faster traffic behind him pass.
Again, you and those that think like you are why we have mile long trains of cars in the left lane. You refuse to move back to the right lane after passing to let the cars behind you pass.

I'm sure the answer here is "it depends" no?
I imagine you can't legally see a person on the road 1000 feet ahead, have reasonable time to stop, but choose not to because you don't legally have to, so you ran right through that pedestrian.
im not talking Dante Stallworth scenario. im talking about the most recent scenarios where people plow through violent crowds threatening the safety of the driver.

I'd counter that with you and idiots like the driver of that Honda are why we have major traffic jams due to morons wrecking.

And when he passed that vehicle

you should listen to Rod here, he is Highway Patrol

Every state law in the country?
Left lane is for passing. When you pass the vehicle on the right and are safely able to move back over, you move back over to let faster traffic behind you pass. When the faster traffic has passed, you can then move back over to pass the vehicle in front of you.
I mean it's common sense to not sit in the left lane blocking traffic because it's inconvenient for you to move back over to the right lane.

There was another red suv in the right, it's really not clear at all that it was safe for him to move back over

I just went back and watched the video again, and it's about 10x more obvious that he should have not tried to brake and shimmy into that spot. It was much smaller than I initially thought.

It's pretty clear in the video. Truck passes dark SUV. Truck has room to get back over to the right lane to let faster traffic behind him pass. Truck refuses to move back over to the right lane, blocking faster traffic in the left lane.
I mean I get it. You think you can sit in the left lane , even if you have room to move over, no matter how much traffic you back up behind you.

Of course the Honda driver is an idiot for sure.

Well considering he didn't move over to the right after passing the dark SUV, I think it's pretty obvious what he would do.
