Sometimes it's a try-hard douche look. I don't care for it. I think I'd get mocked for wearing that in my profession and I'm not too far removed from banking.

It's actually 80s if you want to be correct. Now it's just holdovers that wear them.

Look up the definition of upper middle class. Might surprise you that what was posted is categorically correct.

I think its called a Banker's Collar. I have one shirt with it. I like it, but wouldn't wear it outside of work.

You don't live in a big city.

ETA: you have to understand that $500,000 in Houston is not as much as it is Shreveport. You have to understand the cost of real estate in New York and Chicago, the cost of private schools in L.A. because the public schools are overrun with ne'er-do-wells, and the amount of taxes paid by high salary earners (as opposed to high capital gains earners). My wife and I combined are in the top 3% I think, but as high salary earners instead of high investment earners, we don't get tax breaks. We get taxed in full. And the cost of childcare is insane. Even for a family like mine. Particularly if you don't have family help.

So... I am not rich. Not even close.

And you know, the funny thing about money is that there's always someone with more of it than you.

most people mistakingly wear it because they havent updated their wardrobe or just simply do not know what to shop for.

People arent trying to make this a "thing". It isnt a fashion statement and most people do not consciously buy these hideous shirts thinking they look good.
