From the cultural appropriation movement and political correctness, to the right of the Confederacy to secede and the perverse misunderstanding of what states actually are, Dr. Williams pretty much nails it.

We certainly need more of this guy, and less of the other numb skulls.
I really appreciate his referencing the Treaty of Paris, but I also think that one look no further than the Greek City States, and their union together as a much clearer understanding of what our states truly are, and how this country was designed to operate. But alas, so much misunderstandIngs and misinformation infects Americans today that it’s a daunting task to get through to them.

He is a true academic, you do not see to many of those left in the academy. He is the professor that would not kick a student out of his class for saying something controversial, he would challenge the student with facts and a different point of view and send the student off to think and read. He and my mentor are like the academics I have modeled myself after and after 15 years in higher ed, I hope I can just model a little bit of him.

Some of todays SJW would have have a $#!+fit in some of my classes at the Citadel. Not saying it was right/wrong. Just pointing out fact.
Of course my Prof was a Decorated Combat Vet (including a purple heart), so I guess he earned his right to the 1st amendment....

It’s funny you say that, because my absolute favorite professor in college was a super liberal sociology professor, and yet he was every bit of what you just described, and I respected him for that too. He and I mixed it up on more than a few occasions in class, but always civil, and he always gave myself and others the opportunity to express our views and was always respectful in his counter points. It made for a really great learning environment and it’s why it was always my favorite class and he my favorite professor.
That’s why I just don’t understand the current intolerant climate most college campuses find themselves in these days. It seems as if college is no longer a place for free exchange of ideas to be shared, or a place for learning, as it has become very narrow minded, and bigoted toward anything that opposes the set dogma. That’s a very sad indictment IMO.
