Police raid Dallas Catholic Diocese offices, alleging officials haven't been forthcoming about sex abuse
This just happened an hour or so ago. Not really sure what to think about it how it went down, but this is a first that I can think of.
I know yall are heavily Catholic on here, so is this looking legit or no?

Heavy catholic here. And I would not doubt this at all. There is no doubt a gay problem in the church (and pedos) that needs to be dealt with. Clean the damn house and let's get real priests in there.

I'm curious about what the end result looks like here. It seems like the leaders are still complicit in covering up the abuse. Do you who are catholic have any faith in the Church that its being cleaned up? I imagine there has to be a small chance that the Catholic church loses its tax exemption based on the sheer number of sexual abuses found in the church. Not sure if there is a legal path for that to happen, but there needs to be a penalty for the coverup they've done.

Yet I can’t join the church unless I go through an extremely intrusive bureaucratic process where they contact my ex-husband and several witnesses to decide if my non-catholic, non-religious first wedding can be annulled in the eyes of God.
