How about the Cockpit, Uncle Ben's Fried Chicken, and watching Pistol Pete in the Ag Center?

Mike Anderson's right at Standford & Highland(College Town Grocery)

Actually it is LSU Avenue and Highland as Stanford turns into it at College Town. But you got the grocery right. Most people think it was an old house.

From your list you are a little older than me but I remember most of them.

Leo's Roller Rink on North Street
Lums Boiled in Beer Hot Dogs
Andrews and Andrews Drugstore
Of course Joe D's - fried chicken po boys and egg salad sandwiches on Friday for a quarter in a stapled wax paper bag
Pac A Sac
Bobby Meadors Catfish place

Stupid neighborhood wouldn't let them serve hard liquor cause it may bring the neighborhood values down.

At least it was a nice TCBY for the next 20 years.

Used to buy the shrimp loaf for ten bucks. A full loaf of French bread about two foot long. Actually I think it was nine bucks.

I see you listed Bobby Meadors catfish house. I hooked up with his daughter at SLU one night and her snatch smelled as soon as her pants came down. Was a rough 17 minutes.

Duffs was awesome.

:scratcheshead: I think so. It's been a while

Martini: the Shrimp loaf for $9 rings a bell. Damn the fog of time. We should grab a beer one day. Pastime or George's is about the only old haunt left.

I lived in that old green house right behind Georges for about a year when George opened his place . Seems like I lived in that place more than mine.
