Worked a few turnarounds. But decided my health was more important then the $$$$.

Checking in from the plant. Though I'm leaving to go judge Junior/Senior design presentations at LSU. Then playing golf.
Just wanted to update you fellas on my life.

Just finished a great book “Go Flight” and the Netflix doc Mission Control. If you haven’t you might want to read. Gives the NASA engineers their due.

Never worked at a plant

In. Dad told me to never get stuck in one of those plants (he was). So I went into forestry and retired after 40 years. I'm old.

EE......NASA.......no money.....
Well, through my limited deduction, prestige is a nice consolation prize.
There's no money in ANY discipline here. Just stability. I've been getting paid from ISS since 1997. Before that..military simulators at Camp Beauregard...and before that JRTC @ Ft. Polk.
Prestige doesn't put food on the table. But then again...if I went and worked petrochem I'd be working lots of hours and at the risk of the engineering sales to keep me employed (Engineering sales lost a major contract where I was an I&E designer before I graduated college). I'm not fond of the OT/layoff cycle, so I stay where the money's not great...but the food stays on the table. To me...it's just a job.
