Worked a few turnarounds. But decided my health was more important then the $$$$.

Checking in from the plant. Though I'm leaving to go judge Junior/Senior design presentations at LSU. Then playing golf.

Just finished a great book “Go Flight” and the Netflix doc Mission Control. If you haven’t you might want to read. Gives the NASA engineers their due.

In. Dad told me to never get stuck in one of those plants (he was). So I went into forestry and retired after 40 years. I'm old.

There's no money in ANY discipline here. Just stability. I've been getting paid from ISS since 1997. Before that..military simulators at Camp Beauregard...and before that JRTC @ Ft. Polk.

Prestige doesn't put food on the table. But then again...if I went and worked petrochem I'd be working lots of hours and at the risk of the engineering sales to keep me employed (Engineering sales lost a major contract where I was an I&E designer before I graduated college). I'm not fond of the OT/layoff cycle, so I stay where the money's not great...but the food stays on the table. To me...it's just a job.
